To Autumn
Welcome easy and tender October. You inspire such warmth and affection, and we’ve been waiting for you.
By and large, I prefer the transitional seasons of autumn and spring to the more extreme months of winter and summer; they’re gentler and more transformative. I find autumn, in particular, to be intensely romantic. As autumn is the season of maturity with its calming cooler weather and darker days, it allows us to feel and connect more deeply. With the delectable frivolities of summer behind us, we begin to feel anchored again. Time slows down, nights get cozier, evening conversations and coffee dates with friends linger longer, our outlook becomes sharper as we pursue new endeavours and, just like autumn’s rich colours, we become more vibrant.
As the last summer rays caress our bare skin, we turn to warm knits, chunky cardigans and knee-high boots for comfort and to hearty stews, country walks and candles for calmness.
Welcome season of love, tenderness, openness and exquisitely infinite nights.
